DINER FAVES AT JET 7 BISTRO

I live in Quezon City, near the Timog and Tomas Morato areas, which are packed with all these bars and cafes and restaurants.

Can you believe that I’ve been living in QC for around four years already and there are still places in those areas I haven’t tried? To think that I love eating out and that we love trying out new places for work meetings.

One place I’m definitely going to try out next month is a diner called Jet 7 Bistro Diner.

I checked out their food offerings and just realized that a lot of them are my favorites.


Take for example the crispy calamari. I love crispy food, especially when paired with a good dip, like their marinara sauce. It’s just an appetizer but I end up eating it with rice if it’s really good.


 And then there’s southern-style friend chicken. Crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, I don’t feel any guilt when I enjoy this comfort food.


 They also have an assortment of pancakes and waffles. Some like them with all these toppings or extras, but I like mine with just maple syrup – and eating it with chicken. I think they make a good pair.

Apart from these personal favorites, Jet 7 Bistro Diner also has other tasty offerings like fish and chips, Angus sliders, chicken burgers, Sloppy Joes, the B.L.T., their breakfast platter, and barbecued baby back ribs.

Now I can’t wait for Jet 7 Bistro Diner to open next month so I can enjoy these diner faves in one place.

Congratulations to shoe brand TOMS, which now has their flagship store at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall! I AUDITIONED FOR SMOKEY MOUNTAIN

I loved singing and performing for relatives and guests at home when I was young. One time, when I was about four years old, my mother asked me to sing Tomorrow for our relatives who were visiting. I instantly burst into song. However, after singing the first line with so much passion, I decided to stop and asked to be excused. I went inside my room, did a proper entrance, and then whipped out my milk bottle, which I used as a microphone. I sang “The sun will come out tomorrow” again and finished the song. No doubt about it: even when I was just a kid, I already knew I wanted to sing and perform for others. Fast forward to my high school years. MY 3-YEAR-OLD IS ALREADY WEARING A BRA

And it’s Beyonce’s fault. See, Sadako has a thing for playing dress-up. She asks for a bandana or a scarf or any piece of cloth to be wrapped around her head whenever she wants to sing along to her favorite Erykah Badu song, “Bag Lady.” She makes sure she’s wearing her kitten heels whenever she performs Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War.” She grabs this piece of white piece of lacy fabric and puts it around her shoulders whenever she’s copying Christina Aguilera in her American Music Awards performance, where she sang a medley of tracks from her “Lotus” album, starting with “Lotus (Intro).” So going back to Beyonce, my little one discovered the talented star just recently when I popped in a DVD copy of her 2006 concert. It didn’t take long for Sadako to copy the star’s birits, moves, and get-ups.
