CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: OTTERBOX PHONE CASE

Image
My phones are always in a case. The only times they weren’t in a case: when cases weren’t a thing yet, when the phones had changeable cases (3210, 3310, etc.), when I was using Motorola RAZRs. I use a phone case all the time (plus I take very good care of my phones) that whenever I hand them over to others they look almost brand new. I don’t have a lot of cases; max would be three. For example, for my iPhone 6, I was using just two; one was this clear, hard plastic case. It was pretty thin and it didn’t cover a lot of the phone. There are times when I miss holding a case-less phone so I sometimes remove the case and just stroke and fondle the phone, maybe even use it to text a message or two, and then put the case back on. One time – when my iPhone 6 was case-less, it just had to slip off my hand – for the very first time. Good thing it fell on my big toe so the impact wasn’t that great. The damage? There was a little little little dent on one of th...

SADAKO’S FAVORITE APP – MARCH 2016: TOCA BAND

Image
Sadako loves music so I make sure I nurture this love. Letting her use this app is surely one way of doing that. Toca Band is basically a sound mixer for kids. There are 16 different sounds (a boy playing the guitar, an operatic grandma singing, a creature chattering its teeth, etc.) and so many musical masterpieces that your kid can produce by combining two or more of them. Our favorite? This feet-stomping spider. This app is definitely something that music-lovers would like. I mean I myself love it and I even used to play it when Sadako's not using her iPad. I eventually downloaded it in my own iPad! It's a fun app that can inspire DJs-to-be so go download. Warning: nakaka-LSS yung "la-la-la-la" niya, promise.

SADAKO LOVES SNAPCHAT

Image
I have to admit I was hesitant to try Snapchat when it was starting to become popular. I just didn’t get it. Why would you post something that would disappear after 24 hours? You show your better angle and then snap the perfect photo or video and then apply a filter and adorn it with some emojis, upload it for your followers to see, and then it disappears??? I just didn’t get it. I eventually gave in to temptation and peer pressure (my officemates were very convincing) and downloaded the app together with Periscope, a similar app. I didn’t get Periscope even after giving it a chance; I eventually deleted it. But as for Snapchat, it’s safe to say I fell in love with it before long. I now understand the appeal of the snaps disappearing after 24 hours – understand lang ha, coz I still don’t like it.     I like looking at the random snaps of the people I follow but I also like how you can prettify your videos with filters and emojis and doodles. The lenses are ve...

REVIEW: BELKIN QODE ULTIMATE PRO KEYBOARD CASE FOR IPAD AIR 2

Image
I recently got an iPad Air 2 because I wanted a better tool to help me with writing/blogging. I have been too busy with work lately so I haven’t had the time to blog, and whenever I felt like blogging or had free time to do so, the office laptop or my Mac Air was out of reach. So now I have an iPad. Now I have no excuse to not write/blog. I knew that if I wanted to write a lot, I had to buy a separate, physical keyboard for my iPad. There were many choices. I initially wanted to get the Mac wireless Bluetooth keyboard but didn’t want to also spend for a case that would also serve as a stand. After a lot of Googling, I ended up wanting to get one of those keyboard cases from Belkin. Good thing the Mac store in Robinsons Magnolia had some. I ended up buying the Belkin QODE Ultimate Pro Keyboard case, and I know it’s pretty early but I already have to declare my love for it. So many things to love about it. The keyboard is perfect; sure, some of the keys...

BYE, IPHONE 5

Image
I just said goodbye to my iPhone 5. Early this year, I decided to finally go touch screen (late bloomer, I know) and after thinking long and hard about which phone to get, I went for an iPhone 5. It was love at first swipe. (Love at first sight, actually, since there’s no denying how beautiful-looking the iPhone 5 is.) I don’t even know where to begin! The longer and larger screen, its sexy and just-right size, the awesome photos the camera takes – everything about it, basically. Don’t even get me started on all the apps you can get from the App Store! But then I got a Samsung S4. That was when things got complicated. Before I knew it, I was already addicted to both phones that no matter how much I wanted to be a minimalist and simplify my life, the selfish and materialistic part of me kept on justifying why I should keep both phones. And then my office phone, an iPhone 5, arrived. I decided to switch phones with my assistant, who got a Samsung S4, because ...

GOODBYE, IPAD :(

Image
Sadako’s iPad 2 just died. Well, not really.  When she and her cousin Inigo were playing with it during my dad’s birthday lunch last week, they dropped it on the floor, shattering its top glass layer. Good thing it had a protective film so we didn’t make a dangerous mess.  Her iPad now has several cracks so there’s no way I’m letting Sadako play with it again even if it’s still working. According to my brother, we can just have the glass replaced. But it’s already been a week and we haven’t had it fixed yet. Guess we’re all too busy. And, you know what, maybe we’re also intentionally forgetting to have it fixed, kind of relieved that we now have a valid reason to take the iPad away from her, especially because she’s been spending a lot of time with it. Honeybun and I thought it would be hard for Sadako to deal with the loss of her iPad, but she’s coping pretty well. How? She’s now using her mom’s iPad Mini, which is lighter, prettier, and s...

YAYADOLL VS IPAD

Image
I know I’m not the only one who thinks that the iPad is one of the best inventions ever.  I also think I’m not the only who considers it one of the best yayas. (Not here to offend so wag over-OA, ha???) Some time ago Yayadoll took a very long hiatus. It was only when she expressed an interest to return when Honeybun and I realized that life wasn’t really that hard without her.  Thanks to the iPad. It solved a lot of things, Honeybun and I agreed. Sadako’s bored? Bring out the iPad. Sadako’s throwing another tantrum? Bring out the iPad. Mwah Mwah’s already sleepy but Sadako isn’t yet? Bring out the iPad. Pla Pla’s still sleepy but Sadako’s already wide awake? Bring out the iPad. The iPad was our answer to everything that we never left home without it. Sadako likes using the iPad for all sorts of things. She enjoys dressing up people and “cooking” gingerbread cookies or mac and cheese. She likes doodling butterflies using Kale...
