Look at all these cool shirts from Linya-Linya, a line of shirts with witty one-liners and cute designs.


Linya-Linya was started by Ali Sangalang (she comes up with the one-liners) and Panch Alvarez (who does the artwork), and while they were just a small startup not so long ago, they are now a full-fledged t-shirt business. Not only did musician Jim Bacarro help their Facebook following blow up from 7000 to 247,000, they also now have 10 retail stores.


Saab Magalona is their ambassador and they couldn’t have chosen a better one because Saab is known for being opinionated and expressive since she is a blogger, a musician, and an actress – madami siyang feels!


Our favorite from the line? The Kalma, May Karma tee. I can already think of a handful of people I can go up to and ask, “Do you like my shirt?” ;)


Linya-Linya is available at UP Town Center, Market! Market!, SM Megamall, Gateway Mall, Fifth Rack, Glorietta, Trinoma, Robinsons Galleria, and Hobo’s.

Congratulations to shoe brand TOMS, which now has their flagship store at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall! I AUDITIONED FOR SMOKEY MOUNTAIN

I loved singing and performing for relatives and guests at home when I was young. One time, when I was about four years old, my mother asked me to sing Tomorrow for our relatives who were visiting. I instantly burst into song. However, after singing the first line with so much passion, I decided to stop and asked to be excused. I went inside my room, did a proper entrance, and then whipped out my milk bottle, which I used as a microphone. I sang “The sun will come out tomorrow” again and finished the song. No doubt about it: even when I was just a kid, I already knew I wanted to sing and perform for others. Fast forward to my high school years. One day, I read in the papers that Ryan Cayabyab was forming an all-male version of Smokey Mountain. Of course, I just had to try out. I didn’t tell my parents about it. MY 3-YEAR-OLD IS ALREADY WEARING A BRA

And it’s Beyonce’s fault. See, Sadako has a thing for playing dress-up. She asks for a bandana or a scarf or any piece of cloth to be wrapped around her head whenever she wants to sing along to her favorite Erykah Badu song, “Bag Lady.” She makes sure she’s wearing her kitten heels whenever she performs Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War.” She grabs this piece of white piece of lacy fabric and puts it around her shoulders whenever she’s copying Christina Aguilera in her American Music Awards performance, where she sang a medley of tracks from her “Lotus” album, starting with “Lotus (Intro).” So going back to Beyonce, my little one discovered the talented star just recently when I popped in a DVD copy of her 2006 concert. It didn’t take long for Sadako to copy the star’s birits, moves, and get-ups.
