I had so much fun at the debut of Gabbi Garcia last December 6, 2016, at the Diplomatic Hall of Marriott Hotel!

After months and months of preparation and collaborating with different suppliers and creative groups, we finally got to mount it, and I’m very happy with the outcome.

Gabbi looked extra beautiful that night, special thanks to suki makeup artist Jason delos Reyes and hairstylist Mark Rosales.

Gabbi definitely slayed all her gowns (thanks to stylist Kat Cruz for all the help!).


The huge silver Mark Bumgarner creation was the perfect debutante dress. Very evening gown competition, noh?


I also love the other Bumgarner gown because of both the color (very Alena) and that huge ass bow.

And that Martin Bautista dress was also amazing. Gabbi wore that to the after-party AND the after-after-party in Revel.

The party was well-attended.



Gabbi’s co-stars from her previous shows were there, such as Instadad’s Neil Ryan Sese and Gabby Eigenmann, who led the invocation.




Let the Love Begin’s Prince Villanueva, Gardo Versoza, and Donita Rose, who was one of the hosts that night, were also there.



Celeb couples were also there such as Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez, plus Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. Gabbi’s friends from school, including Julia Barretto, were there.

As expected, Gabbi’s Encantadia co-stars were present, and it was amazing to see how tight they are.


It was also touching when the sang’gres (Glaiza de Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Kylie Padilla) went onstage to share their wishes and message for the debutante.




Highlights definitely include Gabbi’s dance with Ruru Madrid, and when her parents gave her their gift (a car!), and when she did her dance with her first Rose, her grandfather. She couldn’t stop crying and it was such a touching, emotional moment.

My favorite part of the debut? Well, apart from dinner (the food was amazing!), I loved the after-party coz it was basically me tipsy-dancing with everyone. Andre Paras and Jerald Napoles were crazy fun on the dancefloor! But it was also great fun dancing with everyone: Mark and Jason, my officemates, and even Gabbi’s parents!


I am super proud of my team and everyone who collaborated with us and made #SincerelyGabbi a success. Till our next event!

I loved singing and performing for relatives and guests at home when I was young. One time, when I was about four years old, my mother asked me to sing Tomorrow for our relatives who were visiting. TAO NA!

I’ve always found the expression “Tao na!” (used to describe a baby who’s already acting like a big kid or an adult) hilarious, but I found myself using it a couple of hours ago when Sadako kept on bugging Honeybun, my sister and I while we were enjoying our shawarma pizza dinner. To shut her up, we offered her a bite. As it turned out, she wanted more than just a bite. Good thing we didn’t put hot sauce on all the slices. Tao na!

Some years ago, back when my now-1-year old daughter Sadako wasn’t even an idea yet, I came across an article about how supposedly bad TV is for babies and young kids. I now don’t remember the boob tube’s bad effects on little ones (although I really should Google that), but whatever they are, my daughter must already be suffering from them because watching TV has been a daily habit for her for half a year now. Blame me and my girlfriend, Honeybun; we always have the TV set turned on. Apart from being soothing background noise, we discovered that it can be some sort of a babysitter, too. For example, certain commercials would make our daughter stop crying or catch her attention long enough for us to squeeze in drops of yucky medicine inside her mouth. Sadako is picky, though, so we bought a stack of DVDs and VCDs to entertain her whenever her favorite commercials aren’t on air.
