ENJOY THAT CLOUD 9 MOMENT

I have a lot of really nice memories involving Cloud 9.

For example, we had a sari-sari store when I was young and I remember always asking my lola for Cloud 9 – utang, of course.

My lolo was also a big fan of Cloud 9. In fact, he’d regularly buy a huge pack and share some of the small bars with me as dessert.


And then there was also this one time when I asked our yaya to buy me a couple of Cloud 9 bars. When she came back, she told me she got to buy only one. I was devastated (LOLERS, devastated talaga) – until she showed me one big bar of Cloud 9 instead of a couple of small bars.


No doubt about it, I have a lot of Cloud 9 moments and all of them I equate with happiness.

Cloud 9 has come a long way; it’s been around for quite a while making a lot of people feel good, and it even comes in several flavors now.


Of course, the Classic is still around, and it remains to be the favorite of a lot of people. It’s a sweet treat that has caramel, peanuts, nougat, and chocolate – everything that you need to make you feel good, actually.


And now there’s a White version. It’s pretty much the Classic but instead of the milk chocolate it has white chocolate.


Another new flavor is Salted Caramel, which is caramel, nougat, and crunchy pretzels wrapped in white chocolate.


For those who like it simple there is Cloud 9 Choco Fudge which is chocolate-flavored nougat coated with chocolate. My sister and I like this!


But my super favorite is Cloud 9 Overload. I think of it as a giant Classic, which has double the peanuts, caramel, nougat, and chocolate. Happiness in a bar!

TAO NA!

I’ve always found the expression “Tao na!” (used to describe a baby who’s already acting like a big kid or an adult) hilarious, but I found myself using it a couple of hours ago when Sadako kept on bugging Honeybun, my sister and I while we were enjoying our shawarma pizza dinner. To shut her up, we offered her a bite. As it turned out, she wanted more than just a bite. Good thing we didn’t put hot sauce on all the slices. Tao na!

LA PACITA GRAHAM CRACKER SANDWICHES

I’m always one the lookout for yummy snacks for the office and these Graham cracker sandwiches from La Pacita caught my attention at the supermarket recently. I was like, oo nga noh. It’s such a no-brainer when you come to think of it, but then no one really thought of it earlier but it really makes perfect sense. I guess we were all busy using Graham crackers for mango floats and ref cakes and s’mores. Good thing La Pacita came up with these Graham cracker sandwiches. The chocolate and peanut butter flavors were pretty expected but they’re still so good. I especially like the peanut butter flavor but both really complement the crunch and taste of the Graham crackers. My super favorite has got to be the cream cheese flavor. The cream cheese filling is pretty good, with that slightly sour-salty taste. It’s genius! I love all of them so much I didn’t even get the chance to share them with Sadako.
