Sadako’s favorite Disney Princess is Rapunzel, which is very interesting, when you come to think of it, because her name is Sadako – that long-haired ghost from The Ring. I made a promise to her before; I told her I’d bring her to Disneyland so she could meet Rapunzel. The thing is that she just met Rapunzel (and Belle!) awhile ago in SM North EDSA, thanks to Toy Kingdom’s Disney Princess Dream Big, Princess meet-and-greet. It was cute to see Sadako with “other Disney princesses.” Good thing there was no other kid wearing the Rapunzel costume ;) Sadako was very excited to see and meet Rapunzel. She couldn’t care less about Belle; she just wanted to see Raps. Good thing everything started on time and that there were some contests. Remember how I was just in Sky Ranch Tagaytay last November 24? Well, I went back last November 27, but this time with Sadako and Honeybun’s family, since her older sister is in town for a vacation. I was so excited and happy for Sadako because I really had fun when I went there for the first time and I just knew she’d love it there, too. The moment we got there, Sadako wanted to ride a pony. Blame it on Sofia the First or the Disney Princesses. I said yes, and had to cash out P300. I was actually surprised that Sadako was not scared. She had to ride the pony alone (but with a guide, of course) and she didn’t show any hesitation. She didn’t even ask for me! I recently blogged about Science Centrum , where Sadako and her classmates went for their field trip.   I didn’t have a lot of nice things to say about the place; good thing Sadako still had fun because she was with her classmates, and there was another destination after that. The second destination was Kidzoona, which is basically a playplace.   The place is pretty huge and there are lots to do.  There is a section filled with booths where kids can pretend to be an ice cream maker, a vegetable vendor, a pizza maker, etc.  There is a sand station where kids can mold kinetic sand.  There is a cyber wheel section, which was a big hit with Sadako and her BFF that day, Ezra.  There is a long trampoline.  And there is a big “pool” filled with plastic balls.  We spent just a couple of hours there but Sadako had lots of fun. Sadako recently went on her very first field trip and I was so excited for her – so I tagged along.  No Coca-Cola plant or Crayola factory, however (maybe next year). Instead we went to Science Centrum and Kidzoona (more on Kidzoona in another blog post).  I don’t think I’ve ever been to Science Centrum. It was my first time and I unfortunately don’t have a lot of nice things to say about it.  The guide that day took forever to gather the kids and give an intro. Their sound system was also awful that day; it wasn’t working properly so the guide had to say his spiels again and again (as if it would matter to the kids), plus the volume was really loud. It was so loud I had to sneak in and turn it down myself because kawawa naman the eardrums of the kids. I tried to call his attention but, well, he couldn’t hear me coz it was really loud nga.  And then a lot of the stuff were either old or not working. There were even some things that had rus...

Sadako is already five years old and she’s never been to the zoo (I’m a bad parent, yeah). So in the desire to be a good parent, I finally brought her to one yesterday. We went to the Ark Avilon Zoo in Pasig, and can I just say that I was so glad it’s an indoor zoo because it rained yesterday. Even before you enter, there is already a bunch of animals – rabbits, white mice, and guinea pigs – kids can go look at. But those are nothing; the “real” animals are inside. There is also a souvenir shop selling overpriced animal stuffed toys, and other animal-themed stuff like bags and keychains and wallets and even bangles (zebra-striped, syempre). Entrance fee for kids below 3 feet is P300, while each adult gets in for P400 (senior citizens get a 20% discount). Inside, there is a pool full of large carps in white and orange.
